This mockup is the first one that i made i think that the white text contrasts well with the black background. the pic is of the offspring, i have faded the image of the offsping into the black background to make that whole page flow together.

Fonts / colours of fonts

I'm thinking of having a range of different fonts but i don't know what to choose yet though so hear are a range of fonts.

I'm not sure what font to use at the moment but hear is a range of fonts that i could possibly use .

colours

I am thinking about having dark and faded colours to build the genre of my magazine cover.

Black, red,gray and maybe purple, i think that these colours will express the genre of my cover

planning

I am going to plan for may final magazine product. i think it should be bright an colourful and have lots of different fonts.
it should be well set out and be easy to navigate and make your way aroud the page

This is my preliminary contents page, i have made it on fireworks and used all my own resources and skills to create it. the picture is of Nath Bromley from Biddulph high. i have used a range of effects and faded most of the images to make them all flow together. The master head, i chose from (www.dafont.com) there is loads of different fonts to choose from. I set the background colour gray because i think that it contrasts well with all of the other coloures on the page.

I have used fonts from DA font . com and used all me own images that i have took on a digital camera. The coloures that i have used contrast with the images well and all the fades.

This contents page of thrasher magazine is a bit different than the other ones on my blog, this one has one big picture that stands out and then lots of little pictures arranged in the order that they go in.

I think that the colours used are very simple because the colours used are that of he background in the photo, except from were the text is positioned, they have used a white background with black text and i think that it contrasts well

with the images

This contents page out of kerrang magazine hes quit a lot of text and pictures. The pictures used contrast and go well with the background used. the thing that you look at first, that draws your eye is the big picture in the middle.

then the highlighted text it makes you feel like you need to read it straight away.

I think that that way the whole page is laid out works very well, it kind of flows all together in a winding way.

All the pictures are at the the wright contrast and size for the page, I think that there is just the right amount of images on the page.

This front cover of NME magazine is laid out in such a way that the thing that you do first is look at jay-Zs sun glasses, the way that the light is reflected of them looks like it is his eyes. The second thing that you look at after the sun glasses is the other image of Ian brown who seems to be looking at jay-Z. How it is all laid out is like 1-2-3 it makes you look at one thing then a second thing then the third thing witch is the text in the middle, it is kind of like a zig zag.

The main colours used in the NME magazine that i have noticed are red and black this must be the colour coad for all the NME magazines

The thing that i like about this contents page is that there are two main images in the middle with all the text around them like a boarder or a frame, this makes the pictures stand out just that little bit more. The band index bit on the right hand side of the page is interesting and stands out because there is a red outline around it and i think that it links with the NME master head because that is red too, plus the main colours on the whole page are red and black.

I also think that the advertisement at the bottom is good because it has got big bold letters which stand out and pictures of the thing that they are advertising.

This front cover of NME magazine looks to me that it is split into three, with three different pictures and two tears to separate the pictures. the master head is big and bold and always stands out. I think that it stands out so much because it reflects on how loud the music is. I think that the page is split into three because the person in the three sections has three different personalities.

also the big bold sub heading is bigger than the master head this tells you that it is an important subject, or an exiting one.

This magazine cover is from the magazine FADER. I think that the colours used on it look natural and vibrant, these colours contrast well with the shade of the images skin. This cover is very simple and all flows nice together , the main thing that caches your eye first is her face and then the master head FADER. to me it looks like the logo or pug" is the F of the FADER this is very simple but affective.

The sub heading is very small in the bottom left hand corner this might be because it isn't that important, except for the KERI HILSON bit in the middle of the sub heading, to me i think that it stands out because that is the important bit. The only thing that i can sea wrong with this cover is the lack of info on the whole cover, but this may be to make it simple as i stated

Anaysis of kerrang magazine

This front cover of this Kerrang magazine is particularly striking because there are three close up shots of band members which draws your eye straight away. The one in the middle caches your eye first because of the mask that he wheres. Throughout the front cover there are loads of sub headings and advertisements which build up the most of the page. Te colours used on the page are very simple, the reason for this is because if there was loads of different colours it would make it complicated. The master head looks likesmashed glass i think that this represents the sound being so loud that it has smashed the glass.there are three different genres on this page. death metal , heavy metal and Indy rock.

This front cover is very simple because it only has a few colours, it is simple but effective. The way that the master head is layered behind the head of the image gives the illusion of the black colour of the master head being disguised as the hair of the person. Te text around the image makes a border or a frame and the way it is black and red contrasts with the red t-shirt and the black master head. The facial expression of the person in the image makes me feel that he is frustrated and sad.
